Deconstructing “Deadpool’s” Action Opener

Ryan Tudhope is co-founder and creative director at Atomic Fiction, a groundbreaking visual effects studio with offices in Oakland, Los Angeles and Montreal.

He has supervised visual effects on over thirty motion pictures including Star Trek Beyond, Deadpool, Pirates of the Caribbean, Game of Thrones, Sin City and Looper. Tudhope was nominated for an Emmy for best visual effects on Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey.

Earlier in his career, Tudhope parlayed his interest in film and computer graphics into a job at Skywalker Ranch just days after his high school graduation. Once there, he worked directly with George Lucas, designing key sequences for Star Wars: Episode One.

Tudhope has earned a reputation for leveraging the latest technologies and unlocking creative potential in artists. He has been featured in numerous keynotes, panels and publications and actively speaks to promote school-to-career programs, advice on entering the workforce and the use of technology in the classroom.
