Bogdan Amidzic
FX Supervisor, Crater Studios
Bogdan Amidžić is an FX Supervisor and CG Supervisor at Crater Studio in Belgrade, Serbia, where he has worked since 2013 across roles spanning FX supervision, CG supervision, and technical direction on international film and series projects. He led the studio's pipeline restructuring, including its full transition to Houdini as the primary FX tool and its move to a USD-based workflow. His credits include supervising over 350 CG shots on the hybrid documentary Drava se ne predaje, along with work on productions such as Saho, Lost in Russia, Rade Shyam, Moon Knight, Werewolves, and Moawia.
Before stepping into supervisory roles, Bogdan spent several years as a compositing and VFX artist, contributing to feature films including The Other Guys and Shark Night, as well as commercial campaigns and music videos. He also worked as a VFX artist on the Italian promo campaign for The Voice with Frame by Frame in Rome. Beyond visual effects, he has an independent producing and directing background, having executive produced the feature Mali Budo, directed photography on the documentary Čujte Srbi (about Archibald Reiss), and produced Šajkaški bataljon.
A dedicated educator and speaker, Bogdan has taught Digital Compositing at the Crater Training Center since 2012 and Houdini Fundamentals since 2021, and has spoken at FMX, CGA, and Houdini Hive, as well as guest-lectured at various art and technical universities. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Animation and Visual Effects from the Academy of Arts at the University of Novi Sad, and his technical expertise spans Houdini-based FX and simulation, USD pipeline architecture, CG lighting and look development, and end-to-end VFX and CG pipeline supervision.
