Elizabeth “Liz” Bernard is an Animation Director with over 25 feature-film, episodic, and short-film credits to her name. Some of her most notable projects include the Academy and BAFTA-nominated Twentieth Century Studios' film Free Guy, Paramount Pictures' Terminator: Dark Fate, and Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel.

Liz is dedicated to breathing life into creatures and characters, forging powerful emotional bonds with audiences through her work. Currently, she is spearheading animation for the highly anticipated 2027 release A Minecraft Sequel and recently wrapped on Steven Spielberg's upcoming 2026 summer blockbuster, Disclosure Day. Her recent portfolio also includes serving as Animation Supervisor for the Warner Bros. hit A Minecraft Movie and the Netflix/Russo Brothers' production The Electric State, where she directed the nuanced, lifelike performances of hundreds of unique robot characters. Liz's exceptional craft earned her a prestigious Visual Effects Society (VES) nomination for Best Character Animation for her work on the Marvel Studios series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, as well as multiple Telly Awards.

After joining Digital Domain's team as an animator in 2011, Liz quickly rose to Lead Animator and eventually to Animation Supervisor. She continues to elevate both her own craft and the department's overall capabilities through her collaborative leadership and sharp attention to detail, which play key roles in achieving realistic animation and in pipeline and show tool development.

With a B.A. in Drama from the University of Virginia, Liz has an extensive background in theatre arts and photography, contributing to her astute eye for composition, scene-building, and storytelling. Liz and the fully stacked animation team are integral to Digital Domain's world-class visual effects team, which consistently pushes creative boundaries to bring the impossible to life on screen.
