VFX of Disclosure Day

Joel Behrens, Visual Effects Supervisor at Digital Domain, has showcased his innovative ideas and exceptional skills in visual effects on over 40 feature films, along with numerous episodic and commercial projects. Joel is currently working on a highly anticipated project that is yet to be announced.

Most recently, Joel served as the Visual Effects Supervisor for the highly anticipated Netflix film "The Electric State," directed by the Russo Brothers. In this crucial role, Joel led the Digital Domain team, the primary vendor for visual effects. He oversaw more than 850 shots along with the creation of over 60 characters and the development of nearly 480 assets, further solidifying his reputation for delivering groundbreaking visual storytelling. 

Prior to this, Joel was the VFX Supervisor for Marvel Studios' "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness." He also played a key role in Sony's "Morbius", where he collaborated closely with director Daniel Espinosa to craft the film's iconic vampire creatures and effects, enhancing both their visual impact and the film's narrative.

Joel's earlier work includes serving as the Digital Effects Supervisor for Steven Spielberg's Academy Award and BAFTA nominated "Ready Player One", where he oversaw the technology pipeline and coordinated the creative efforts of hundreds of artists at Digital Domain. His extensive credits include notable films such as "Ant-Man and the Wasp," "Pixels," "X-Men: Days of Future Past," "Ender's Game," and "Her". For Spike Jonze and Kenzo World, Joel directed digital effects for the award-winning commercial "My Mutant Brain," which received multiple prestigious awards, including the Titanium Lion and the Epica Film Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions Festival.

Joel is a proud member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and a key contributor to Digital Domain's renowned team of visual effects experts.
