Preproduction behind-the-scenes for Universe Building in Valerian VFX
All the preparation that led up to the shooting and VFX turnover of shots for Valerian Visual Effects will be examined and presented. Although no VFX production is perfect, the early work on Valerian led to VFX that were allowed to excel. An insight into the unique concept work, and pre-production decisions will be presented along with unique imagery.
20 Years after Luc Besson created The Fifth Element, he returns to sci-fi with Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Luc’s cinematic sensibility is present in all facets of the VFX, from color palette to camera choices and lighting. Overall VFX Supervisor Scott Stokdyk will present the VFX from the movie, from conception, design and inspiration to final color timing. Special emphasis will be placed on early concept artwork and preparation for the physical production.
