Join us for an exclusive work-in-progress preview of The Orchid and the Bee, a free-flowing expressionistic ode to the labyrinthine dance of life, as seen through a chain of genetic love affairs.
In her latest project, interdisciplinary artist Adair Mckenzie brings her mischievous sense of play to the realm of virtual reality by combining the tactile materiality of old-school stop-motion animation and stereoscopy with cutting-edge technology. The result is a beautifully-crafted 5-minute immersion into a reimagined primordial soup of life – where the survivors are not the strongest or most intelligent, but the most adaptable to change.
The director will be present to guide individuals through the VR experience and to answer questions related to the development and creation of the piece.

Synopsis:

An interspecies love affair in stop-motion VR, The Orchid and the Bee serenades the romance of genetics and evolution at a moment of planetary uncertainty.
