Artist, Writer, Director of Blacksteps
Stephen Black has been researching and testing spatial cinema ideas since 2016. At that time, with Sayuri Okayama, Stephen developed Bubiko Foodtour and other characters. He has presented his ideas at MIT, Hong Kong PolyU and other venues worldwide. Stephen is also an established visual artist working in photography and video. He has produced, written and directed for Cartoon Network, CNN, Fox, and Fuji TV, and was creative director for a game company.
After graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology, he immersed himself in the music and art world of Lower Manhattan, before moving to Tokyo. He has also written a number of books, including Bali Wave Ghost, the bestselling i ate tiong bahru, and Bubiko Foodtour's Unusual Guide to Augmented Reality.
