A Day in the Life On Set

Michal ‘Mike’ Jelínek is concept designer who worked on projects such as Terminator: Dark Fate (Directed by Tim Miller and produced by Jim Cameron), Future Ink (A collaboration project between Wacom and ArsElectronica), Love, Death and Robots (Blur production, distribution Netflix, season3) or Dubai'sDubai's museum of the future exhibition (Research with Tellart Amsterdam).
In his doctoral research, Mike was exploring mind, creativity, and ideation in design and cognitive sciences. His thesis “Sketch as a Tool of Visual Ideation from the Design Perspective” focuses on the role of the human body in creativity and the impact of technology such as VR and AI. As an artist, Mike explores gesture and physicality in traditional and digital media, such as drawing, painting or virtual reality. Mike is currently touring universities and design studios with his “Metasketching” workshops. (POLIMI, Rubika, STU … )
Mike continues also his academic research at MX lab, which is a multidisciplinary research team at Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, exploring ‘phygital’ design tools & processes. MX lab researches future mobility experience in three R&D areas: in-car HMI/UX design, automotive interior architecture and CMF design (colors, materials & finishes).
