Mayet Andreassen
Instructional Associate Professor, Visualization Industry Relations, Texas A&M University, College
Mayet Andreassen is both an artist and educator whose core philosophy centers on promoting artistic and creative excellence in her students and herself. She earned her M.F.A. in Film and Animation from The Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and her B.F.A in 2D Animation and minor in Illustration from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
Mayet has over 16 years of teaching experience at the College and University level and is currently working as the Visualization Industry Relations Coordinator at Texas A&M University in the College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts. She was previously the Associate Program Director of the B.S. in Visualization for three years and she is a full-time Instructional Associate Professor. She teaches classes in Animation Production, Virtual Production (ICVFX), and Game Development.
Mayet has led and served on various Committees and Boards. She currently serves on the non-profit board, Texas Media Production Alliance (TXMPA) as the Education Representative. She has also served on SXSW EDU’s panel Picker review board since 2021, served on ACM SIGGRAPH’s Electronic Theater Triage Review Board since Spring 2023, and is currently serving on the SIGGRAPH Education Committee since 2024. Mayet’s previous work experience is in the games industry, and as a freelance designer and illustrator, where she worked for companies such as 2K Sports and Zynga Games.
