David Stump ASC BVK has been working in motion pictures and television production in various capacities, including as Director of Photography, Visual Effects Director of Photography, Visual Effects Supervisor, and Stereographer (in both live-action work and 2D to 3D conversion). Over his career, he has earned numerous accolades, including an Emmy Award, an Academy Award for Scientific and Technical Achievement, an IMAGO Technical Achievement Award, and an International Cinematographers Guild Award.

David’s extended credits include work in immersive media, including Unreal Engine/LED extended reality production, circular and hemispherical VR environments, virtual cinematography of all kinds, virtual camera design, light field cinematography, multi-camera photogrammetry, volumetric capture, and immersive military training environment design.

David is also the author of the book “Digital Cinematography – Fundamentals, Techniques and Workflows,” which is available in both English and Mandarin Chinese, with both first and second editions in circulation. Additionally, he is a contributing author to the “VES Handbook” and the “ASC Manual 11th Edition.”
