
David Brain
Director, Animator, Professor, and Author
David Brain grew up in Los Angeles California and graduated from the Chouinard Art Institute in 1963. He began his career as an animation assistant at The Walt Disney Studios in 1965 on the feature film The Jungle Book. In a career that spanned over 40 years, David has animated and directed on over 100 television commercials, 6 television specials, and 50 shorts, working on classic projects such as Sesame Street, Ducktales, King of the HillI, and Winnie the Pooh. In 1988 Dave was invited to be an animation professor at the Dun Laoghaire School of Art and Design in Dublin Ireland. He has also taught in the Los Angeles area at Glendale Community Collage, Woodbury College, and The Chouinard Foundation School. In 2006, David's first book, Drawing For Animation, was published by GGC. Drawing from David's experience and knowledge, the book instructs and illustrates the basics of animation.
