Adventures in USD in Animation in Japan: ONI
In 2020 Megalis was approached by Tonko House to create the CG for ONI: A Thunder God's Tale. At a time when a Solaris/USD workflow seemed like the future for many studios, the team at Megalis decided to adopt it right away. Here is the story of how they were able to produce the Annie Award-winning series and then use the same pipeline to deliver VFX for a live action Japanese zombie film.
