CG Animation – New Immersive Real-Time Workflows
The demand for CG animation has never been greater for a myriad of content platforms, but the workflows and tools are remaining the same. The production process can’t be really named as iterative and agile. Traditional tools are accessible only to professional experts and require months and years of training. Complexity also increases, as you have to create 3D worlds and interact with 3D objects on a flat 2D screen using a keyboard and a mouse. And it is becoming even worse when you are building content not only for the flat screen, but also for new media - Augmented and Virtual Reality. Transition from the 2D screen to immersive media is very painful.
So why animating in VR?
During this talk we will be diving into the new way of creating 3D animation, which is virtual animation. The new spatial software allows you to be fully immersed in 3D, creating animation at a lightning speed and having fun throughout the process. Throughout the talk we will cover use cases for the new workflow, integration with traditional pipelines and emphasize the pros and cons of doing CG animation all within Virtual Reality.
