STORY is a fundamental human skill. Regardless of medium: Words, Drawings, Pixels etc or media: Gaming, Film, TV, Socials… the job of the STORYTELLER is to find a voice that cuts through the noise. We humans are currently living through a perfect storm of uncertainty. Let’s face reality: the TOOLS, the AUDIENCE, and the BUSINESS is all in FLUX. We can’t stop this change from coming, BUT the big question of our job is still the same: HOW DO WE CONNECT WITH OUR AUDIENCE? This workshop will focus on the key ingredients of story: Character, Composition, and Tone. Regardless of experience level, skill set, or career goals, there is always something to learn about the PROCESS of turning an IDEA into a THING that speaks to OTHER HUMANS. Maybe it’s words in a script?Maybe it’s a short video shot on a phone? Maybe it’s a graphic novel that takes years to illustrate? Maybe it’s a pitch to win bridge financing to make an independent film? Whatever form your Story takes, we are all knocking on the same old door hoping to find a new punch line. It’s a humbling experience to face an audience, but in this workshop, we will do that together, because the only way to truly know if your story connects is to SAY IT OUT LOUD.
