Take a journey through time with legendary filmmaker Phil Tippett and his longtime collaborators as they revisit the groundbreaking milestones that defined modern visual effects through the lens of stop-motion animation.

Through iconic titles like Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, Jurassic Park, Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, Solo: A Star Wars Story, The Book of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian, and Skeleton Crew, this panel explores how stop-motion - since Phil’s groundbreaking work on the Star Wars franchise and the development of "go motion" - pushed VFX technology to new frontiers, transforming the industry and inspiring generations of artists.

Join Phil Tippett himself, Animation Supervisor Tom Gibbons, Editorial Supervisor Ken Rogerson, Art Director Mark Dubeau and CEO Gary Mundell for an in-depth conversation moderated by Director, Producer and Author Alexandre Poncet. Together, they’ll revisit key creative moments, share rare insights from the production trenches and reflect on how traditional craftsmanship continues to evolve in harmony with cutting-edge technology.

From miniature models to motion control rigs and digital hybrid workflows, discover how stop-motion remains a vital force in visual storytelling, as bold, inventive, and essential as ever.
