Bridging the Gap between Education and Industry
Executive Producer Morten Thorning presents the European PANEURAMA Innovation Alliance, dedicated to bridging the transition from student to professional in the fast-evolving animation and VFX industry. The project aligns education with industry needs through research, innovation labs, and the PANEURAMA Skill Base, making new knowledge easily accessible to both schools and studios.
This session highlights the Innovation Lab: Animation! Acting!! Drama!!!, part of the New Animated Drama movement. By reframing the animator as an actor, the project explores how traditional animation thinking can evolve to meet the demands of high-level character drama.
Drawing on the research of Silke Hassreiter (Breda University), Morten will also share new guidelines and recommendations for young professionals, institutions, and companies on fostering positive work environments and integrating soft skills into the European creative industries.
The ERASMUS Innovation Alliance PANEURAMA consists of the educational partners The Animation Workshop, Breda University of Applied Sciences, Université Paris 8, Gobelins, and Filmakademie Baden-
