John Halstead began his career at Pixar Animation Studios in June 2000. Brought on for the Academy Award®-winning “Finding Nemo,” Halstead worked on sets modeling and articulation and effects for the film. Halstead continued his work in the sets world as sets technical lead for the Golden Globe®-winning feature “Cars,” and sets supervisor on another Oscar®-winner, “Up,” and “Cars 2.” He recently finished work as the supervising technical director on the latest Disney•Pixar’s feature film, “Finding Dory.”

Prior to joining Pixar, he worked at various internships including Compaq, Loral Space Information Systems and Texas A&M Software Development.

Raised in Dickinson, Texas, Halstead attended Texas A&M University where he received Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees. He currently resides in Lafayette, California.
