Giulia Carluccio
Deputy Rector, University of Turin
The Deputy Rector of the University of Turin is Giulia Anastasia Carluccio, full professor of Cinema, Photography, Television and Audiovisual Media at the Department of Humanities.
She chose to graduate in Film History at the University of Turin, under a master like Gianni Rondolino, fascinated by a discipline that traces themes, issues and cultural motifs through a language that encompasses others and brings arts and aesthetics closer to technology.
Her scientific path – from the study of linguistic and expressive forms of cinema and media to attention to aesthetic and productive aspects and, not least, to interdisciplinary and intermedial relationships between the seventh art and other disciplines – has nourished her teaching activity, carried out for many years at Turin's DAMS program, a degree course that she helped found and chaired until her appointment as Deputy Rector.
The passion that sustains her work has also led her to engage at the institutional level: in the last legislature she served in the Academic Senate, on the Faculty and Research Commissions, and chairs the national University Cinema Council. She is also president of the historic AIACE (Italian Association of Art Cinema Friends) of Turin and collaborates with the National Cinema Museum.
