Sébastien Deguy is the founder and CEO of Allegorithmic, the company that originally created the Substance 3D texturing suite. More recently, he has become Vice President of the 3D & Immersive division of Adobe.  

Sébastien has a computer science background with a specialization in mathematics, random processes, simulation, computer vision and image synthesis. Sébastien’s doctoral thesis in Computer Science laid the foundations for the entire Substance suite for 3D material authoring and texturing, which now includes the 3D painting tool Substance Painter, the powerful node-based material authoring tool Substance Designer, Substance Alchemist, which facilitates advanced scan-based material creation and creation, and other tools and resources besides. 

He is also an award-winning director and producer of traditional and animated short films, a musician,  and a writer.
