Hristo Velev
Founder, Bottleship VFX
Hristo Velev is the founder of Bottleship VFX and was previously an FX artist specializing in simulations of destruction and fluids in productions such as “Iron Man 3” and “Man Of Steel”.
Coming from a computer science educational background, Hristo switched to pursue his passion for computer graphics in 2006 and landed his first film visual effects job on Roland Emmerich’s “2012” in 2009. He founded Bottleship in 2013, which has since worked on over 20 film titles, including “Marcel The Shell With Shoes On”, which was nominated for an Oscar, and their latest work, “Comandante”, which opened the Venice Film Festival in 2023.
Hristo is an active participant in artist communities and an author of educational courses.
