In Lightyear, Buzz is driven by the need to complete his mission – even at the expense of forming meaningful relationships with those around him. For the tailoring and simulation team, we were tasked with reflecting this single-mindedness through costume. As the film progressed, and Buzz evolved, we further explored ways for the costumes to knit the broadening cast of characters and the world together. How did we stitch together elements that would support character arcs, drive home story points and, importantly, look cool?
