The Science of Dreams, a Rodeo FX Presentation on The Sandman

Visual effects on Netflix’s hit The Sandman were designed to make the magic look flawless and airy, a dream-like canvas for the intricate storylines that unfold throughout the 10 episodes. Rodeo FX created locations like “The Throne Room” shot in a real London church and layered with intricate CG light work;  fan-favorite gargoyle Gregory, a wonder of creature animation delivering one of the most emotional sequences of the show; and Gault, the shape-shifting dream, a combination of live-action performances and character enhancement.
Raphael Letertre, CG Supervisor on the show, brings us behind the scenes of this VFX-filled season and how the team made dreams (and nightmares) come true.
