The Art, Animation and Light of Disney and Pixar's SOUL

NOTE: Watch this session on our VIEW 2020 On-Demand Portal.
Pixar is known for taking audiences to places we’ve all imagined but never seen before, and SOUL is no different. Largely set in The Great Before - the ethereal, cosmic world where souls are given their personalities before coming to Earth - the film posed a unique creative challenge. What would such a world look like? And, once it had been imagined by director Pete Docter and his art team, how would the wildly imaginative world be built in the computer and populated with soul-characters? Join Bobby Podesta, Markus Kranzler and Max Bickley as they discuss their artistic and technical approaches to creating the soul world and bringing its inhabitants to, er, life.
