Cars is a well known established franchise, so when creating Cars 3 with the latest technology we had to make sure it didn't look out of place with the previous two movies in the series. Radiator Springs is famailiar to our audiences and it was fun to see how we could update it. In addition to the old familiar places we had a wide variety of new environments to light, from the high tech racing world to the ghost tracks and backwoods of the American south. In this presentation I will talk about the challenges of lighting Cars 3 and the creative choices that we made along the way.
