PUBG : A Creative by Global Underdogs that Stunned the World

PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS(PUBG), an online game that has created a worldwide battle royale genre phenomenon, is now in effort in expanding its footprint as a global cultural IP. Together with a small group of passionate, creative underdogs from different countries: South Korea, Ireland, Poland, Spain, the U.S. and more, the game was created and debuted in an imperfect form in early 2017, but has succeeded in bringing a new genre to the mainstream. Followed by the launch of PUBG, series of 'battle royale' concept games were introduced and has taken the gaming industry by a storm, and it still acts as one of the most dominant game genres in the industry. The keynote by CH Kim, CEO and former Executive Producer of PUBG, will be presenting the stories behind the journey of planning, creating, and experiencing this phenomenal success.

Changhan Kim, also known as CH, is chief executive officer(CEO) of PUBG Corporation (PUBG Corp.), the developer and publisher of PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS(PUBG). CH’s journey in the gaming industry began since July 2000. After 8 years of experiences as creative and technical lead at local game studios including Imazic and Nextplay, CH moved to Ginno Games, which later became Bluehole Ginno Games, to take the role as chief
technology officer(CTO) and producer. In early 2016, CH took on a challenge to invent a new gameplay and started the project ‘PUBG’ together with a small team of 30, which now has become a signature of the battle royale genre, selling over millions of copies globally.
