This panel examines the collaboration between large, established companies and local gaming clusters to drive innovation and regional growth. Through case studies from Turin, Lyon, Bordeaux, Dundee, Brno, and Fundão, we will explore how structured enterprises engage with regional ecosystems, highlighting best practices, challenges, and opportunities for mutual development. The GAME-ER project, funded by Horizon Europe and UKRI, investigates the emergence, development, and sustainability of local and regional video game clusters across Europe. By analyzing diverse clusters, the project aims to provide actionable insights and policy recommendations to support the growth of the gaming industry at the regional level.
This session offers a platform for policymakers, industry leaders, and academics to discuss strategies for fostering thriving gaming ecosystems, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between large enterprises and local clusters in shaping the future of the European gaming landscape.
