Communities have told stories since sitting around a bonfire. The digital age and mobile, from the iPod to Youtube/Netflix and Instagram, has disrupted Hollywood’s ability to tell/fund diverse stories in movies, resulting in monolithic superhero productions on the big screen and the extinction of long-standing narratives in the public arena. With the rate of new technologies storming onto the scene from distributed computing platforms like improbable, emotional intelligence for characters, to virtual reality, how will these technologies continue to help us remember who we are as a culture, as a people, and find continuity with our past, our traditions? How are these frontier technologies/mediums becoming new forms expressions for the next generation of writers and creatives?
