Paint & Draw with Jesper: Believable Fantasy
Workshop: Making Fantasy Look Real
The workshop is about making fantasy look real. Everyone can stick wings on a horse and add a merfolk to its back, but making it look believable is the hard part. I have a bag of tricks for exactly that. When you visually can convince the audience that the merfolk is clenched from determination and the laws of physics and wing movement apply well to the stead, you are halfway there. Choosing the scene, the angle, and the emotions is key to everything.
In my lecture, I will talk about all the thoughts that go into even a simple picture. After the talk, you get a chance to try it all out yourself. I will provide you with a selection of assignments to choose from and will help you out through all of the process. The topic is free, but you have to use one out of three images as inspiration.
Everyone brings their own art supplies of choice, either for drawing or painting.
